Relaxing in North Lake Tahoe

Last weekend, my two girlfriends and I made the trek from San Francisco to Incline Village on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. It was our annual weekend girls' trip and we had a blast!

We spent most of our time around the Hyatt, relaxing on the beach, swimming in the lake, and sipping cocktails at the Lone Eagle restaurant/bar. Every time I return to the Hyatt, I think about what an amazing venue this resort is for destination weddings. If you haven't considered the Hyatt at Incline Village as a wedding venue you SHOULD! It's definitely on the more expensive end of the spectrum for wedding venues, but there is nothing more beautiful than the sun shining on the deep blue lake with snow-covered mountain tops in the background.

Here are a few MUST EATs/DOs in Incline:

Aloha Skin Spa - This is a wonderful spa that is a little off the beaten path... We enjoyed facials, skin scrubs, and massages at this Hawaiian inspired spa. This would be perfect for a pre-wedding spa day with a few bridesmaids. It's small, so if you have more than 3 or 4 bridesmaids it might not work.

Austin's Restaurant - This is a great restaurant with a casual atmosphere. They have outdoor seating as well as a cute space inside. The best part is their homemade cornbread that comes with the salad! Don't forget to put honey and butter on the cornbread... yummy.

Lone Eagle Bar and Restaurant at the Hyatt
 - There's nothing better than sitting by the fire pit, sipping cocktails, and watching the sunset over the lake. After a drink or two, it's fun to head out on the dock to the Pier 111 Bar Note: Be careful if you get sea-sick, because it's like being on a boat :)

Sierra Cafe - Feel like indulging? Try this $28 Prime Rib buffet!  This is a gourmet buffet, not your typical Vegas-style fare. There's quinoa salad, spinach salad, prime rib, and of course an array of gourmet desserts - very classy!

Enjoy N. Lake Tahoe!
Cheers,
xx M
