Pregnancy ~ 37 - 38 Weeks

It feels funny writing this pregnancy post because it could be my last... we just don't know. I'm crossing my fingers sooner than later. It's getting to a point where I'm uncomfortable and ready to meet this little boy! 2 weeks away!

How far along? 38 weeks
Baby size: About the size of a leek and probably almost 7 pounds, about 19 to 20 inches long. I really like this blog, if you're pregnant definitely start following it - "Pregnant Chicken" I love what she said about 38 weeks. "Forget fruit. At 38 weeks, your baby is actually the size of a baby." :-)
Gender: Boy
Favorite Maternity Clothes: Still wearing the SAME maternity clothes I've been wearing for the past few months...I can't wait to put them away for a few years after I get my body back. The doctor told me I need to wear compression stockings, so I've been putting those on and then wearing leggings over. I'm on maternity leave so not really caring about style - fIip flops and tennis shoes are the only shoes that fit. I have so many cute clothes and shoes in my closet that I can't wait to wear this summer.
Sleep: I've been sleeping well the last few nights - some nights are better than others, but I've been able to sleep in a little more, which is nice. For a while my body was so programmed to wake up for work, that it took some time to sleep in. Everyone tells me I should get a LOT of sleep.
Missing anything: Last week I said I was missing cute clothes...that hasn't changed, but this week I'm missing getting really good cardio in. I can't wait until I can do a spin class - yes, I'm going to splurge on Soul Cycle when I can!
Best moment this week(s): Seeing my brother and his girlfriend Sara in Santa Cruz and being with family. We had a wonderful Passover Cedar at my Aunt and Uncle's house and lots of family was there to celebrate. It's fun to think that the next time I see everyone we'll have a little baby boy.
Also, going to Santa Cruz made me feel very ready for labor. I'm such a planner that I need to have all my ducks in a row in order to feel relaxed. Little things like buying flowers for the house - maybe even some new couch pillows :) buying the right items for the hospital, packing my hospital bag, etc... all of these things are what keep me calm. I'm at the point where it's hard to stop thinking about what he's going to look like, his eye color, personality, it's all getting very real - I just want to meet the little boy.
Baby movement: He's been kicking and moving a lot! I think we saw the biggest movement we've seen yet a few nights ago. It was definitely a foot or elbow pushing on my belly.
Cravings: Chocolate!!
Rings on or off?: Ring is still off, missing my wedding ring :(
Anything I really don't like: PUFFY FEET and feeling heavy!! This has not changed.
Baby Clothes and Equipment: This is a whole blog post in itself talking about baby equipment and clothes, although I don't feel like I am qualified to write a post on this until I have experience with all the equipment. All I can say is we are prepared. We have the carriers, the strollers, the car seat, the changing table, the bathtub, the swing, the rocker, etc... and really in the end all they need is a little food and a lot of love. So, we're good to go.
Exercise: Walking is what I have for exercise now, although even that is much harder. I have some 5 pound weights by the couch that I've been using - trying to keep my arms toned. I went swimming last week in Santa Cruz and that felt really nice.
Looking forward to: There's so many unknowns in birthing, when is it going to happen, how is it going to happen, is my water going to break - day/night? So many unanswered questions... At this point I'm looking forward to the answers, although I just need to stay patient and wait for it all to happen.

Happy Sunday!
