Matthew William ~ Week 2

Weight/length: As i mentioned in my week 1 post On Thursday, May 15 he weighed 9 pounds 10 oz. and 21 1/2 inches long! He has gained 10 oz over his birth weight and 1 1/2 inches. It will be fun to see where he is at his 1 month doc appointment.

Sleep: In the second week I was still waking Matt up every 3 hours so that he would eat and gain back his birth weight. He was like clock work, every 2 1/2 to 3 hours he would wake up.

Health: He's a healthy baby! We tried to give him his first bath in the second week and he hated it. I'll post pictures of his bath in week 3 he was much happier!

Clothes: At two weeks I was putting him in the newborn outfits that I knew would not fit him past two weeks :) I already started a pile of clothes that don't fit - my baby boy is growing too fast!

Visitors: Week 2 we had more friends and family visit. The highlight of introductions was introducing Matt to Declan (Chris's 1 year old) Chris is Todd's best friend from childhood. We are lucky to have our baby boys 1 year a part. The boys met on Declan's first birthday!

Diet: He's loving milk - can't get enough!

Baby Gear/Accessories: We're using the Ergo baby carrier and the Bjorn - we have both, so it's fun to play around with them and see what is more comfortable for Matt and us. Matt likes to sleep upright in the Snugabunny. We try to put him in his bassinet flat on his back at night, but right now he prefers to be snuggled in his bunny :) The sound machine has been great to help with the city noises. I would recommend the Sweet Slumber Sound Machine because it also has a night light.

Mac, Matt and I like to go for walks - pic below!

Crying: Second week he definitely found his lungs, there's no doubt that we know when he his hungry!

Adventures: We gave Matt his first bath, went for some walks, went out for brunch, and I ran to the nail salon for a quick mani/pedi :) It was also my first Mother's Day so we celebrated with both my Mom and Mother-in-law - it was very special.

Likes: He loves to be held and cuddled. We started doing more tummy time in the second week and he's liking it.

Postpartum/Mommy feeling: The second week my parents were still in town, so it was nice to have the help and support. Although I was dealing with some problems with my health, Matt was healthy and adorable - so that's all that mattered.

HAPPY BABY = HAPPY MOMMY!
